Once again I am going to back Boo Weekley in the two ball markets. Yesterday I backed him at 1.9 to beat Bryce |
| |
Molder and he won by 6 shots. |
| |
It was his third consecutive round of 68 to go into the final round just 2 shots behind the leader. |
| |
As I mentioned yesterday Weekley has a superb record in this event winning in twice in 2007 and 2008 and |
| |
finishing T13 last year. |
| |
The reason for his success are the small greens which play to his strength - ball striking. |
| |
Today he plays with Nick O'Hern who shot a superb third round of 64. Having been well out of contention and |
| |
teeing off early there was less pressure on the left hander and he got the best of the conditions. |
| |
Generally his form this season has been poor with just one top ten and three missed cuts in his last four starts. |
| |
He finished +10 over at the Shell Houston Open, +7 over at the Honda Classic and +4 at Phoenix. |
| |
Now he is in contention there will be much more pressure and the frailties in his game will be tested. |
| |
His record on this course is average just 1 top ten in 5 starts, nowhere near the record of Boo Weekley. |
| |
Considering Weekley is a best price of 1.8 at the bookmakers, 1.92 looks an excellent price at Betfair. |
