I’ll be honest, it’s a while since I have been this excited about a bet. I’ve been listening to the Cricket Betfair Podcast again as occasionally you can stumble upon a real gem. I think I’ve stumbled on a real gem here.
Ed Hawkins is the tipster who picked up on this value. The best is for Erasmus to be Top Namibia bowler v Scotland.
At the time the podcast went out, Betfair Sportsbook were offering 9/2. Ed’s comment relating to those odds were “totally wrong price”. He also stated Erasmus has a tremendous win rate in this market, over 30% across the past 3 years.
I had a quick look through Cric Info stats and came to the conclusion (rightly or wrongly, sometimes most wickets were tied) that Erasmus was the Top Namibia Bowler in 6 of his last 17 T20 matches.
That would equate to odds of 2.83. So you can see why Ed suggested this was an excellent value odds. Sadly Betfair responded as they do, when the experts they pay money to provide these tips put up a selection, they cut the price. So he’s now only 7/2.

Luckily for us oddschecker seems to spend most of it’s time promoting free bets and their coverage on the cricket markets is shit! So there is no odds comparison for this market yet. The result is if you shop around you can find better odds. Much better odds.
William Hill seem to be closer to the correct price at 3.8, but the bookie I’m not allowed to name (don’t ask why), with the brand colours of my football team Norwich City, are offering a staggering 7.5 on this bet. Holy shit that’s big.
It’s rare you find value like this so snap it up. The problem which us punters now face with markets like this, if a tipster with any kind of following puts up a bet like this, the price will vanish in a flash.
But you know what, I’m not a tipster anymore, those days are long gone, I’m just sharing my best bets and hopefully if there are any of you reading these daily posts, then a handful of you might get this price.
