Ben Coley’s approach this week in the Dubai Desert Classic is back good drivers of the golf ball. That led him to 500/1 outsider Ivan Cantero, ranking inside the Top 15 for Driving on tour.

Whilst playing on the Challenge Tour he played twice in UAE and on both occasions finished in the Top 5.

He’s made his last 4 cuts on the spin with a best finish of T6 in the Genesis Championship. If Cantero can get the putting working then he could have a big week on this golf course which should play to his strengths.

The biggest appeal to me in the booking markets is the difference in price from one bookmaker to the next. SkyBet are offering 6/1 on Tommy Doyle to be carded against Newcastle. Yet if you calculate the average price from all the other bookies on the oddschecker grid it comes up at 4.5.

That’s a massive difference, it’s not even close. So who is correct? The majority of bookmakers or the one offering the stand out odds? I’m inclined to believe it’s the former.

It wasn’t the price that first drew me to this wager either, it was listening to the Betfair Football Only Bettor Podcast and the advice from Jake Osgathorpe. Backing opposing central midfielders to get themselves in the officials notebook is a strategy he’s been employing for a while now.

That’s because the Newcastle midfield are great at drawing fouls and cards. In 14 of their 20 Premier League games so far this season, an opposing midfielder has been booked.

Tommy Doyle wouldn’t be first choice for Wolves and has played limited minutes this season, but with Andre injured and Lemina struggling with illness, and his future up in the air, Jake believes Doyle might get the nod.

He started the last game against Forest and picked up a yellow card. Take the 6/1 on offer at SkyBet, a much bigger price than most bookmakers are offering.

One of his midweek Premier League selections is for Gravenberch to be carded against Nottm Forest. This season 17 central midfielders have been booked against Nuno Espírito Santo’s high fliers.

That is largely down to the trickery of Gibbs White and Elanga who are great at drawing fouls. Gravenberch was booked in the last game and whilst he’s not a regular offender the 4/1 from Bet Victor is a stand out price with the majority of bookmakers at least 1 point shorter.

Jake Osgathorpe has taken a similar approach on this game backing fellow Liverpool central midfielder McAllister but at odds shorter than 5/2 now there’s a big difference between them.
