Arguably the most powerful tool at the disposal of punters is Twitter. It went some way to the demise of the Betting Kingdom tipster competition some years ago, but I forgive them.
Twitter can be anything you want it to be, depending on who you follow and how you interact with others.
Ignore the idiots, it’s just not worth wasting your time. But you’ll find the majority of betting tipsters will now use Twitter as a platform to share their picks or at least tell you how amazing they are.
Finding the right tipsters and accounts to follow is where it does become tricky. Don’t be gullible. There are a lot of scammers out there and many of them will falsify their results to attract new customers.
Try and find third party reviews, especially if you are considering joining any VIP platforms.
If a tipster doesn’t track their results, then be wary. Every tipster should have a record of their picks, profit & ROI. But even then, there is no guarantee those results haven’t been falsified. It happens, so just be aware.
The other thing not to be influenced by is tipsters promoting winners. You might find a tipster puts up 6 tips a day! 1 of them lands at 6/4 and they put out a Tweet promoting the winner and how amazing they are, with no mention of the other 5 losses.
So don’t be disheartened when you scroll down your timeline, assuming you’ve missed out on loads of winners, you’ll also have missed all the losing tips as well, it’s just lots of tipsters choose not to mention those (can’t think why).
Once you do find the best tipsters on Twitter you can interact with them and also turn on mobile notifications. This is where I find Twitter very handy as I can keep track of when tipsters are posting new tips.
Those alerts can go straight to your mobile giving you the best opportunity to match the prices they advertise.
If you’re a punter, or tipster, then make sure you are making full use of Twitter and how powerful it can be to help you beat the bookmakers.
