In gambling, there is a simple rule – the longer you play, the less likely you are to end up winning. Just like your average person who wants to learn through experience rather than trusting common wisdom, I have decided to put this statement to a test.
Now, my experiment didn’t focus on playing with a $1,400 bankroll in total, but rather using $100 a day to see where that would get me. Some days were great, and some days I had to go through modest slumps.
So, this is my story, and as there is no way to pinpoint outcomes in gambling, it will always be my story only. Yet, it might still help you see what to expect!
A Week of Gambling $100 a Day
The first week I was excited. Gaming seemed like a great way to kill some time. So, I started day one all eager to play. I am familiar with how casinos work, but I’ve decided to do what an average person would do – play a bit more rashly than the circumstances demanded.
To get started I did a Google search and found a nice looking website slotsandtables.com. They had a decent enough list of casinos so I chose one that gave me a nice starting bonus.
And so, at the end of Day 1, I had only $85.69 left. This definitely wasn’t bad after all. I spent around an hour playing, with some minor breaks and distractions. Upon returning on the second day, I had already devised a strategy.
I decided to play across two online casinos. One offered some great slot games offering 96.30% average return, some excellent features and more. With the other casino, I chose to play some table games and use some basic strategies and low stakes.
By the end of my $100 bankroll for the day, I had managed to amass $111.06 – still a little below the losses I generated on day one.
But as I carried on in the first week, my total winnings, with a bit of smart play and around one hour a day, managed to reach $36.74. You would wonder – isn’t that a little too low? That depends on your point of view.
The way I see it, I have managed to put in 8 hours of good, quality fun and make the casino pay me. You won’t get as many success stories.
Week Two: I Decided to Step Up My Efforts
So, in week two I decided to do my best – or at least better. I cut down a bit on my slot time and focused on roulette and blackjack games. After a while, things got very simple, but I was also smart – I knew that casinos don’t like it if you use strategies to play table games, so I was actually alternating games and betting variations quickly across both casinos.
This allowed me to go fairly unnoticed and I was able to withdraw all my winnings scot-free. In the second week alone, I won another $83.45 betting at the minimum level. Now, I know this isn’t so exciting, but if you want to be smart about your money, you might need to be a little duller than the people whom you see in photo-ops having won millions.
If you had expected to come here and get a tale of a player who hit a big buck and did so effortlessly, that’s not what you will get. Of course, some players get incredibly lucky and they walk from Las Vegas super lucky.
Yet, I just wanted to see if I can beat the casinos and get some cash paid out if I were smart about my funds. Now, I believe to have succeeded and I do think that $120.19 after two weeks of recreational fun is definitely a great way to make your casino gaming worthwhile.
With this said, I still want to stress that I believe I have been incredibly lucky. The house always wins, but with some smart play and taking a moderate risk, you may postpone this for a long, long while.
By at least 2 weeks by the look of it.
