Complacency and arrogance is a deadly combination and one which may have crept into my gambling over the past 9 days. Having worked my way back into profit from a deficit of nearly £400 I became a bit over confident in my approach.
Losing runs are never too far away. Especially if you’re careless with how you invest your money. When I say invest, I really mean gamble. I made the assumption my winning run would continue and started placing some reckless bets, too many bets in fact.
The end result was inevitable and I finished the month with a small loss. Nothing to worry about but a stark reminder that to beat the bookmakers you have to be shrewd and selective with your bets.
There were no real winners of note last week. Mcilroy landed the Tour Championship but I only had a few quid on him each way so the return was hardly life changing. I won £30. Rory’s caddie, formally a keen follower of Betting Kingdom (fact), earned $1.8 million for carrying a bag along some grass for 4 days. Do you think now would be a good time to try and rekindle my facebook friendship with Mr.Diamond? Maybe I’ll try in a weeks time.
As I pointed out last week I reduced my stakes to £5 per point and this gave me a more relaxed feel to my betting activity. I’ve really been enjoying the football this season and watching more matches than before. I’ve had some success with my own football tips and I’m up to the tune of about +24pts across player selections (cards and goalscorers).
I’m not really sure why my profit isn’t higher. Tipsters at Betting Kingdom have absolutely crushed it this month. I dread to think what my losses will be when the variance kicks in and the winners dry up (it will happen, it always does).
SPTips is back on Twitter though, give him a follow. His tips have always been excellent and whilst you need to rush to avoid prices being slashed I’d be amazed if you didn’t make a profit following his selections.
To try and make myself think twice about bets, I’ve said any profit I made at the end of the month, I’ll put 75% into a holiday fund and donate the other 25% to charity. Suddenly I have a reason to make a profit and I hope it makes me choose my bets wisely from here on in.
I signed up to Grosvenor Sports and have been really impressed. They have the same odds as Unibet (where I’m limited) so it’s a great opportunity to now get the stakes I want on with these bookmakers.
They have a DOUBLE THE ODDS offer. Please use the link on this site to join any new bookmakers. That’s what keeps the site ticking over, or should I say, hanging on by it’s fingernails. Your support is much needed, so thank you.
