Casino di Consonno – a casino that never was
Outside of Milan in Italy, you will find Casino di Consonno. It’s not only the casino that is abandoned but the whole town. During the 1960’s mount Mario Bagno bought the entire town, and his grand plan was to build a casino town. Everything was made, but it never opened. For some reason, the people in Milan didn’t fancy his idea, and his dream about a glamorous casino fell into pieces.
The Overlook Hotel Casino – a ghost casino in Germany
This casino has not been running for the last 12 years. What’s really eerie about the place is that so much of the interior and the furniture is still there. It really adds to the experience. You’ll find heavy velvet curtains, big lounge chairs, lamps, beds and pillows and old TV’s. Some people say it resembles the hotel from the movie the Shining…
Constanta Casino – once a casino for royalties
This building was designed by a French architect and was built in 1909. The casino attracted wealthy people from different parts of the world, and there were even some royal parties. However, during the second world war, the building was used as a hospital, and later it was used a restaurant. Since the year 1990, it has been abandoned. What a shame for one of the most beautiful buildings in Romania!
