A change of tactics yesterday, sadly not a change of fortunes. 11 bets, 1 winner. Thank you to RobTheBookiesFC (great name) who provided that one. I’ve been really impressed with his tips so far, netting me +4.9pts profit with a 20% ROI. I’ve started with a cautious £5 per point following his selections.
Racing is proving costly at the moment. I’ve ditched one tipster and kept the faith in another who is losing me quite a bit (-7.8pts). But his stats this year suggest that is just a glitch and his biography reads well. Let’s hope my judgement proves fruitful.
As stated in yesterday’s post I’ve scrapped the idea of following most tipsters site like Betting Expert & Betting Odds. Dean Woodward’s tips were a prime example why this was the correct move.
He tipped Robertson in the passes lines, by the time I saw the Betting Odds notification tweet those lines were long gone. I commented on their tweet at 9.30am to inform them, no reply. Then an hour before kick off they promote the same tips and the now defunct lines?? That’s poor, and simply a way of them seeking click throughs with little or no consideration for wasting our time as punters.
I should add this is not me criticizing Dean. He’s paid to provide content, the lines moving are behind his control. But a site like Betting Odds shouldn’t be fishing for traffic when they know the bets are no longer available.
Rant over. I added a few more tipsters to the portfolio to replace the dozen or so I ditched yesterday.
Ed Hawkins is a cricket tipster with a fantastic record. Profitable every season for the Betfair Blog. I don’t expect to win much but I like betting on T20 cricket so I decided to add him to my list.
ProPunter the racing tipster has kindly given me access to his selections. History suggests this should prove profitable for me in the long run so I’ll be adding a review after 100 bets.
Not much else to add. My overall profit/loss stands at -4pts despite being +40 a few days earlier. Ouch. But I’m confident if I get my portfolio of tipsters correct then this will prove a profitable venture.
If you’re a tipster who’s confident in their picks and would like me to follow, track your tips and then post a review, get in touch.
