I remember it well. It was a beautiful summer afternoon. Myself and golfing buddies Murray & Mick had taken the final tee time in the monthly medal. I stepped on the 17th tee 1 under par having just chipped in for the 4th time in that round (I’m not making this shit up).
With a handicap of 3 I didn’t need anything special to post a decent number. The 17th is a short par 4 of around 320 yards, I once made eagle there in the Club Championship. At around 220 the fairway narrows and there is out of bounds all down the right hand side.
I had a decision to make. I pulled out the Driver.
It’s the same aggressive approach I’ve taken to my golf betting early this year. Following no fewer that 6 tipsters, all of whom produced superb results in 2022. The start of this season can be best described as a huge 30 yard slice, much like my tee shot that day.
Out of Bounds. A good way to describe my golf bets the past 2 weeks. My overall loss on the golf stands at -27.2pts. It would be much worse but for a very sensible staking plan. It could easily be 5 times that.
I’m not about to pull my 6 iron out the bag and nudge one down the fairway though. I’m going to stick to this aggressive approach as I believe golf will turn out to be my most profitable sport. It’s just sometimes you need to be patient.
Overall my loss stands at -24.9pts, so once the golf tipsters find their form, I should be making a decent profit. It’s just a case of keeping the faith.
One tipster I kept faith with was Gary Connolly. I was struggling at first and reached -12pts. He tips exclusively on French Racing and his prices disappear in a flash.
It’s frustrating and I rarely get the top price, but even so I’m up 15pts and a ROI of 16.5%. So I will continue to follow.
One other tipster who definitely needs a shout out is Punters Corner. He kindly gave me access to his Premium Group last week and I’ve already netted +17pts profit. 11 of his 16 tips won for a ROI of 142%. Obviously that won’t last, but what a start.
I’m a month in to my betting experience now and it’s been time consuming and so far unrewarding from a financial point of view. But I’m learning from my mistakes.
The best advice I can give right now is keep your stakes down at first and be selective with how many tipsters you follow. My approach is reckless and born out of the need to review more tipsters. So it’s not one I recommend copying.
Thanks for reading and good luck with your betting tips week. Especially on the golf.
Oh if you have any tipsters you recommend I follow, please comment below.
