I’m sitting here in my missus spare room with my headphones on and BBC Sounds keeping me entertained. Oh how I love a Saturday afternoon when the football season is in full swing.
For the first time in many months I’m feeling confident about my betting. I hope I’ve not spoken too soon, but I believe my current list of tipsters is the best I’ve had since I began this project.
I’ve got my tipsters listed on a spreadsheet and how much I’m currently staking per point. This gives me clarity as often I get carried away adding far too many tipsters to my list.
You should soon learn how many tipsters is the right number for you. At the moment I’ve got 18 on my list and believe there is space for 2 more. If I creep above the 20 mark it feels like I spend all day every day placing and tracking bets.
The profit of those 18 tipster is +127.87pts, over 20 points more than my total profit and that would suggest I’m on the right track. There are some tipsters that have made me profit but I’ve stopped following simply because their approach or timing or tips just doesn’t suit my own betting habits.
It’s taken me a long time to refine my tipster list and I’m sure there will be alterations in the future. But what I am most content with is the number I’m following and the fact it’s manageable.
I will continue to search for better tipsters, but as mentioned above I know my limit now, it’s 20. So if I find more than 2 new tipsters I want to follow, I will have to ask the question, are they better than the tipsters I’m currently following.
If the answer is no then I simply won’t follow them. You can’t follow everyone. It would drive you nuts. Your phone would be constantly pinging and you’d never get a moments peace.
Something else I’ve started to do is track the odds availability of the tipsters I am following. This really help me see which tipsters are worth keeping on my list. If I can rarely match the odds they are posting due to my bookmaker limitations then I will have to ditch them.
That said, some of the best tipsters like Ben Coley and DSSnooker will still make a decent ROI even if you don’t match their prices, such is their level of expertise.
Fingers crossed today ends well and my profit remains in 3 figures. It’s been fun up until now and I want to continue beating the bookmakers and make a profit from my gambling.
