I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to the tipster I upset. At his request I will not be following anymore. I should know better to post stats from low sample sizes and it’s the reason I wait until 100 bets to post a review.
But, oh dear, and I should probably end it there, I do feel tipsters need to understand the problems that us punters face.
If you have a Telegram channel of 5,000+ subscribers, 90% of those, if not more, are not able to back your selections at the same odds you publish.
Also to expect a punter to back them at significantly lower odds is quite naive.
Take a coin toss. At odds of 2.1 (11/10), you’ve got value and as a tipster you’d put that up every time. But knowing what we do, those odds would quickly become 1.9 (10/11) due to the bookmakers reluctance to allow winners.
As a tipster you’d be foolish to expect your followers to back that at 1.9. You could reel off 10 winners in a row, but if each of those winners was cut to 1.9 quickly, how many have your followers backed? 0 is the answer (or at least it should be if they understand the concept of value).
What’s the solution? It’s a tough one. I think there are too many tipsters craving likes and subscribers. The whole “100 Likes and I’ll post” approach. Again fine if you’re a free tipster, but the minute you want to charge for your tips, you need to make sure your punters are getting 2.1 rather than 1.9, otherwise they won’t keep renewing.
So just to clarify this as I’m not here to piss anyone off, I’m trying to help. If you’re a free tipster, no problem, do what you like. Odds availability becomes the problem of the punter.
If you charge for your selections, find a monthly fee that keeps the membership at a sensible level, where the majority can get the odds and match your profit.
I hope this helps and again apologies if I do offend or upset anyone doing this, that’s not my intention. I’m trying to help both punters and tipsters succeed.
