Cricket betting has been kind to me down the years. We had some amazing tipsters sharing fantastic insight on Betting Kingdom, including the likes of DRS and Nellberg.
It’s cricket where my attention is heading tonight. Mainly because there is fuck all else to bet on. The Hundred comes along at a nice time to be fair, with the football season still a few weeks away.
Quite a few tipsters are getting involved. The likes of Tyche Sports, Ed Hawkins and Richard Mann are all worth following if you’re on the hunt for some value in this event.
It’s the latter who I’ve entrusted with today’s pick. To be honest confidence is rock bottom right now with 1 win from my last 7 selections. Luckily I’m still in profit overall but gambling ain’t much fun when pretty much every bet you place loses.
A 4/1 outsider therefore might not be the best approach but the idea of backing Southern Brave (widely tipped) at 1.8, just doesn’t interest me. It might be a solid play, but there can’t be much juice in those odds.
Think we’ve done a really solid job with this 🙏#TheHundred https://t.co/jAUbLV9u7q

Oddschecker have shown just how little they care in lesser sports like cricket, by displaying prices for Southern Brave, London Spirit and Southern Brave Women all on the same grid. Surely they have staff checking this? Or they’re all too busy promoting the latest free bet offer from a mug bookmaker. Get a grip OC.
Richard Mann’s tip focuses on the Top Batsman market, a very exciting market to follow, assuming your batsman doesn’t come in and lose his wicket cheaply before reaching double figures.
On which note I once outscored England International Michael Yardy playing for my school cricket team. My 11 runs, 1 more than his weak effort of 10. I don’t think I ever scored more than that in my brief schoolboy cricket career.
Back to Mr.Mann. He’s backed Michael Pepper to top score for London Spirit. He should bat number 3 in the order and is coming off a terrific campaign in the T20 Blast for Essex.
Pepper scored 535 runs in the that competition, with an average of 44.58, bagging himself two centuries and a strike rate of 193.84.
Mann points out in his SportingLife column that if you keep taking the 4/1 on offer during this event, you should land a profit. Interestingly Dee is only offering 10/3. It’s SkyBet who are dangling these odds.
It’s a 2pt stake as well for Richard, so he’s confident this price offers value. I’m not confident about anything right now when it comes to gambling. One winning bet could certainly change all that.
Bet: Michael Pepper Top London Spirit Batsman – 0.5pts @ 4/1
