I’m getting a little frustrated right now. With the bookmakers, not tipsters. Limitations, stakes refused, odds changing, it’s a real battle for us punters to try and beat the bookmakers.
That’s why it’s important to find tipsters are right or you. There are lots of excellent tipsters out there boasting some impressive stats. But many of them just won’t suit your betting habits or your bookmakers options.
One example of this is an excellent football tipster I follow. He’s making some good returns but he likes to post his weekend tips on a Thursday. That’s a good strategy in truth, take the early value and make a long term profit.
The problem for me is Thursday is my one day I take off work to spend with the missus. I do my best to get wagers on but I can’t drop what I’m doing the minute that tipster posts his selections. Wait 15 minutes and you know what happens, the odds are long gone.
So that tipster, as good as his stats are, just won’t be as profitable for me as I’m missing all those Thursday prices.
Another racing tipster springs to mind. Superb stats but he posts his picks every evening at 9pm and the prices again were lasting 10 minutes max. No I generally do find time to login again in the evening but normally not until 10 o’clock. So again the prices had gone.
It really is about finding a selection of tipsters which match your betting habits and the time you are online. You just have to accept that sometimes the best tipsters just won’t be possible to follow.
I’ve tried to follow tipsters I know are not right for me and it leads to frustration and anger at missing out on winners. That could lead to placing bets at lower odds or even losing your patience.
So to avoid that make sure your tipster portfolio is right for you. You’ll find your gambling experience much more positive and it will likely to lead to better results.
I’ve followed my own advice here and have streamlined my own list of tipsters. I was getting increasing disheartened at the missing bets but even more annoyed at prices crashing before I could get my bets on.
So for those tipsters where odds availability for me is a real issue I’ve simply stopped following, despite their big reputations and impressive long term statistics.
