So attention turns back to The Hundred with today’s fixture seeing London Spirit take on Birmingham Phoenix. I was tempted to follow Richard Mann again and back Michael Pepper to top score at 4/1. To be honest if that lands today I’ll be a tad frustrated.
But I need a winner and getting involved at those odds is only likely to see my drought extended. So I’m focusing on the match result market and backing the Phoenix to get the job done.
Prior to the opening round of fixtures the Phoenix were 2nd favourites in the outright market, Spirit were the outsiders. Both suffered disappointing defeats in their opener but it would appear the tipsters are surprised at the prices being offered.

The Edge, Anthony Eadson (don’t think he’s a cricket tipster in truth) and Ed Hawkins (definitely a cricket tipster) are all keen on the odds for Phoenix to win this one.
They’ll need a better showing from Livingston and Ali and do have some players away on England duty. But the Spirit are thought to have the worst batting line up in this competition and when the two sides met last year it was a convincing 77 run victory for the team from Birmingham.
I’m not going to be watching this. Cricket isn’t really my thing and I’ll still be working until around 8pm this evening. I just hope luck turns my way.
On a positive note, completely non gambling related I ran my parkrun PB this morning of 19:25. 2 years that has been bugging me and absolutely delighted to break it this morning.
So whatever happens this evening at The Oval, this is played at The Oval right? I will still be happy with my days work.
