Sorry. It’s been a few days. But you know what, I wasn’t going to wager any money on a tip I wasn’t excited by. I’m lucky to have access to some of the best tipsters around but often their picks are purely stats driven and it can be hard to get excited by that.
I like to read previews. I like a tipster to convince me I’m getting value. Finding the bets is part of the fun for me. When I was tracking 10-15 tipsters and backing their every selection it felt like work. And that’s one of the reasons I stopped with that approach. I want to enjoy my gambling.
I have still been listening to podcasts, reading articles, scrolling through social media, searching for bets which take my fancy. But nothing has caught my eye in recent days.
Hopefully with the European Championship and T20 World Cup approaching, there will be plenty of betting opportunities in June and beyond.
What about tonight’s Europa League Conference Final? Well I didn’t need to search for long. SportingLife is always one of my go to sites for tips and James Cantrill or Jimmy the Punt as he’s know to most punters, convinced me his selection is the way to go.
I’ve always been a big fan of Jimmy as he clearly likes to seek out value selections and sometimes is happy to play big prices. You certainly need some patience to benefit from an approach like this, but it can be a lot of fun.

We are backing Ayoub El Kaabi to score anytime. The Moroccan striker has scored 13 goals already in this tournament including 5 against Aston Villa in the semi finals.
This season he’s netted 30 times in 45 appearances and Jimmy points out that Fiorentina’s style of play isn’t too dissimilar to that of Aston Villa, which El Kaabi destroyed over the 2 legs.
This final is played in Athens, which gives Olympiakos home advantage and that could be massive too.
You’ll see the majority of bookmakers quoting 7/4 or 15/8 so the 23/10, whilst shorter than originally tipped, would still appear to be a good value selection.
That’s where my pennies are heading. The pot stands at £66.84 after 15 bets, having originally began at £50. So that’s a very promising start and I’m enjoying my gambling again which is the main thing.
Hopefully tips will be far more frequent as the big summer events get kick started and I’ll certainly be dipping into the outright markets as well to find some value picks.
Fingers crossed El Kaabi comes up with a goal tonight and lands Jimmy the Punt and myself a winner. Thanks for reading. Keep gambling responsibly folks.
