Rinse and repeat. I’ll keep saying it all the time I keep placing the same bets. I backed Rizwan to be Top Pakistan Batsman 7 times in the last T20 World Cup. He won 3 times and I netted +8pts of profit.
I’ve backed him twice in this competition and landed one winner for a profit of +3pts. It’s like walking down to my local cash machine and just withdrawing money (ok so it’s not quite like that, but you get the point).
I did some maths yesterday. In the last 52 T20 Internationals that Rizwan has played, he’s been the Top Batsman 22 times. That’s 42.3%.
When we convert that to odds were get 2.36 or 11/8. So why don’t the bookmakers price him at those odds? They continue to offer 11/4 (3.75) or in some cases bigger.
You could question his recent form hasn’t match the high levels he set in 2021 and 2022, but even taking that into account, a price of 2/1 (3.0) would still be generous. I just don’t get it.

That’s why I will continue to back him in this market. His slow scoring approach probably helps us and hopefully the criticism he received for that innings against India doesn’t change his style. The longer Rizwan stays at the crease the less opportunities his team mates get to beat his score. So that works well for us.
Pakistan face Canada in a match they need to win. I’m always hopeful in this scenario that the opponents bat first and get dumped out for a low score, as was the case with India. This only increases the chance of this bet winning.
Gambling is simple. Find a player, a team or a market that offers value and just keep hammering it, time and time again until the bookmakers cut their prices. I’m just amazed these sort of prices on Rizwan have been available for the a long time now. It doesn’t make sense.
A couple of bookmakers are offering 11/4. Use the oddschecker grid to see which ones. I’ve just seen that oddschecker are now offering a premium package for £9.99 a month. If you want my opinion that is not worth it.
