The Boost cashed for us yesterday at a tasty 2/1 and puts me right back on track with the pot reaching an exciting £200 already. Let’s fucking do this!!
I’m a little embarrassed that if you’ve landed on this page and hoping for a gem of a tip from one of the paid tipsters I follow, then you’re going to be disappointed.
But hopefully I can continue to reiterate the importance of keeping things simple and taking advantage of the value when it’s gifted to us. Dee (a new nickname as we are so tight) has been particularly generous during the Euro’s so far netting me £70 of profit already.
I’m not about to turn down another generous offer on tonight’s Switzerland v Scotland game. The boost suggests 1.57 – 2.0 and checking other firms this looks to be true. That’s not always the case with these price boosts so do your research.
The one boost to let me down so far was Foden, offered by SkyBet and I should have had the insight to realise that wasn’t great value. The same firm have been a little cheeky tonight promoting their boost as 6/4 – 3/1. My initial reaction was one of excitement but when checking the same bet with one other firm, they had the same bet priced at 9/4. So it’s seem 6/4 isn’t really the true price. Sneaky. So I will let that one slide.
I’ve made a better ROI from backing Super Boosts than following any tipster, so all the time Dee continues to be in a generous mood, I’ll take advantage.
I recommend you too as I would guess as the tournament goes on, and they hook punters in the Boosts will get worse and worse. It’s a clever tactic by the bookmaker and something you should be aware of as a punter. As successful as the boosts have been for me, there have been times I’ve been wise enough to ignore them.
Anyhow. What are the chances this bet will actually win? Well Scotland have scored in 13 of their last 16 international matches. That includes matches against Spain, England, France and Germany (never a doubt).
Opponents Switzerland have conceded in 9 of their last 13. Given the opening day results and the group dynamics, Scotland cannot afford to sit back here, at some stage they are doing to need to play on the front foot.
If you like history then 9 of the 10 meetings between these two saw Scotland get on the scoresheet. Given that stat dates back to 1957, it’s pretty pointless, but I thought I would share it all the same. Who doesn’t love an historic football stat?
I’ve had a little look at who some of the tipsters are backing for this match and some of them certainly seem to agree that this bet will land. Scott Thornton at Oddschecker has taken a leap of faith by tipping Scotland to win 2-1 in the correct score market.
Joe Townsend over at SportingLife has split his stakes between the draw and Scotland to win. Phil Thompson who I’ve never ever backed one of his selections, also predicts a 2-1 win for Scotland over on his Paddy Power blog post.
Even Dee herself with her new free betting tips section is backing Switzerland to win and Both Teams to Score. I’m not entirely sure it was Dee that provided that tip, but whoever it was, they seem to think this bet will land.
Then my main man Kevin Hatchard, who loves to bang his drum, has chosen to lay Switzerland. Granted that bet can still will and Scotland fail to get themselves on the scoresheet but it further backs up my choice of bet today.
Thanks for reading. Please gamble responsibly and just remember, some days you don’t need to be smart, you just need to accept the value when gifted to you.
