If I’m right, having watched the highlights last night of the Michael Smith v Rob Cross match, Cross was 0 for 27 at one stage throwing at double 8 and double 16. Why did he keep setting up those doubles, when we all know he prefers double 18?
Bizarre. That was the main reason the Over 98 average bet crashed. So back to square one. I’ve somehow managed to convince myself that losing runs are a good thing. What it should mean is that on the reverse side of the coin are winning streaks.
When playing Stick or Twist the last thing you want is a spell where one bet wins, only for the next to lose. You’re much better off having a 6 bet losing streak followed by a 6 bet winning streak. Hence why I think this approach of mine is smart.
Moving on to today’s wager and the Open Championship provides an opportunity to follow the highly regarded Ben Coley. He’s been posting some tips Round by Round and that’s where I’m heading this afternoon.
Among his selections are Justin Rose to win outright at 7/1 and the Rose & Nieminen 2 ball double. I’ve tweaked it slightly and ditched the Chilean as Coley wanted 4/5, I can’t get that.
Lawrence’s closing birdie meant profit on day two, so things have gradually been looking up.

What I can get is 2.37 for Rose, when Coley was happy with Evens. How have I managed that you ask? Well Dee is kindly offering us a 25% winning boost on the Open Championship this weekend. I can only assume the tills are down (are Microsoft to blame?) so she’s taken some drastic measures to get punters betting on the action from Royal Troon.
So more on the bet. Rose is up against Horschel. Rose is actually 3 shots clear of the American on the leaderboard and had a worse draw due to the weather over the first 36 holes.
Rose has a much better record in this tournament down the years with 9 Top 25 finishes in the Open. Horschel has just 1.
Golf Betting System have provided us with scoring averages across all major’s from 2018 – 2023, which is a pretty cool stat. Rose averages 71.01, Horschel 72.01.
So that suggests our man should win this by a single shot. It also gives me an excuse to power up my ipad and watch the action this afternoon why I try and do some real work.
Let’s hope Coley, Rose and Dee come good, giving me a much needed winner, so I can ask that question, stick or twist?
Please gamble responsibly and never bet more than you can afford to lose.
Bet: Justin Rose to win his 2 ball with Billy Horschel – 0.5pts @ 2.37 (winning boost)
