Bosh! A nice winner on the Women’s Hundred yesterday. I had planned to watch the game but was totally engrossed in work in the afternoon, so completely forgot.
It was a fairly comfortable winner with Lauren Bell taking 2 wickets in her first spell of 10 deliveries. So at 6/4 it means I have £12.50 in the pot today. So stick or twist? Twist of course!
I’m heading back to the Hundred today and this time making the switch back to the Men’s event. Trent Rockets play host to Birmingham Phoenix.
Fortunately for us punters seeking a play on this game, the latest edition of the Cricket Only Bettor Podcast was released this morning and about 10 minutes in they switch from discussing International cricket to the domestic action.

🪙 The Best bets https://t.co/qBzk4pWsqA via @acast— Ed Hawkins (@cricketbetting) July 31, 2024
It’s one of the best sports betting podcasts around and I’ve found some absolute gems down the years. I was tempted to back Adam Lyth top team batsman at 4/1 when Ed Hawkins revealed his 30% win rate in this competition, but his recent form concerns me.
So instead I’ve followed the advice of Paul Krishnamurty, he’s focusing on the Total 6s Market. The trio of experts on the podcast talked about the pitch and how it’s been set up to make the most of their key asset Rashid Khan. So hopefully we will see a low scoring game.
Paul reveals 66% of matches played at this ground in this competition featured 10 or fewer 6s. So to witness that Dee has set the line at 12.5 sixes, I had to get involved.
Again this should be a fun wager if you get the chance to watch the game. I might get a brief opportunity after returning from my planned 10k this evening. Hopefully I can put it on whilst warming up my curry which I prepared yesterday. Sadly it wasn’t as epic as normal, it turns out I’d forgotten to order more curry powder, quite an important part of the recipe it would seem.
Anyhow, that’s today’s bet, it’s been a while since I’ve managed back to back winners and hopefully this can leave me asking that question, stick or twist, this time tomorrow.
Good luck to anyone betting today. Please always gamble responsible. And if you’re in the UK, don’t forget your sunscreen, and eat your greens. Ok I’ll shut up now.
Bet: Trent Rockets v Birmingham Phoenix – Under 12.5 Sixes – 1.25pts @ 1.8
