Phew. I know I’ve set myself up for a backlash by trying to rank tipsters. No-one seems to have made an honest attempt at doing it yet. That’s because it’s an absolute minefield out there.
You have a small percentage of tipsters who do everything right. They have a sensible staking plan, they try to use prices they know are obtainable, they offer previews with their tips and track their profit and loss.
In my opinion every tipster should be doing that. If you spend the time doing the research why wouldn’t you spend an additional few minutes adding your bets to a spreadsheet or even a tracking website like bettin.gs.
That’s part of the reason I’ve decided to rate and rank tipsters. I’ve already experienced some disgruntled tipsters and I respect that. If you’re not content it shows you care.
I’m hopeful these rankings will make tipsters question how they can improve their service in order to move up that list. The fundamental aspect being to have an updated profit/loss sheet that is available for everyone to see.
The rankings are based on a number of aspects which are highlighted at the foot of the golf tipsters page, so I won’t repeat myself. Profitability being the key factor, but even then it only accounts for 40% of the overall rating. Why so low?
Well from my experience not every tipster can be trusted. Sometimes it’s a genuine mistake that they miscalculate their profit/loss. I’ve had several instances where golf tipsters have been settling Each Way tips in full despite their player finishing Tied 8th with a handful of others.

So we cannot always trust a tipsters profit. That’s where punter reviews will come in. At the moment I’ve not had much response but hopefully as the site grows and more punters sign up to share their insight, the reviews will become more helpful and accurate.
I would add this is a first attempt and I’m still in the very early stages of this project. I hope to keep building it over the next few years and cover all sports. The aim being to help punters build a portfolio of tipsters that suit their betting habits and who they can trust. I’m sure anyone reading this will respect that motive.
What about the rankings? Well it’s no surprise to see Ben Coley at the top. In recent years his golf tips have been sensational. I started following tipsters again 6 months ago and to date Ben Coley has generated me the most profit.
Closely behind is Matt Vincenzi who’s results in recent seasons have been equally impressive. Both of these tipsters are available for FREE, which is even better for tipsters that like to keep their stakes down and off the bookmakers radar.
Jamie Worsley (3rd), Michael Golf (4th) and Ginger Joe (5th) make up the Top 5. Although that latest spot will change upon my next update after some feedback.
The list is never going to perfect, and you might find tipsters further down the list are better suited to your gambling habits. It’s there to act as a guide for you to explore further and see if you can start making money from betting on golf.
I’m always interested in feedback and the more punter reviews the site generates the better. Thanks for reading and well done Ben Coley for landing top spot. It could all change on the next update though which will happen quite soon.
Thanks for the info. Will be very interesting to keep an eye on going forwards.
