The PGA Tour season kicked off for 2024 and I’m sure it was the bookies who were smiling in the early hours of Monday morning.
Despite his 5 PGA Tour titles and decent record in Hawaii, not many golf tipsters added Chris Kirk to their shortlists last week. That’s probably why the bookmakers priced him up at 150/1.
Fair play though to Tom Jacobs who did include Chris Kirk in his oddschecker Sleepers post. You have to scroll some way down the BK golf tipster rankings to find Tom, but that’s due to my rating system.
CHRIS KIRK!
Nice to start the year with a big win in week one. 🥇

I’m pretty sure he’s a lot better than my ratings suggest. But I’m yet to discover any stats from his picks and with no reviews yet to be posted by happy punters his ranking is lower than it should be.
It was an amazing pick by Tom Jacobs so I don’t want to sound like I spend all day long sucking on lemons. Is that the right analogy? Fuck knows, but this is my website right, so I can write as much of this nonsense as I like.

A shout out also to Lee Alldrick or DKGolfBargains as he’s known on X. He was another tipster to put up Kirk at a whopping 150/1, although I think his selection was aimed more at the DFS players than UK Punters.
BOOM! Chris Kirk 40/1🏆

The third tipster celebrating the Kirk win were GBC, known in full as Golf Betting Club. It was much needed win after a disappointing finish to 2023 for the two brothers. The sign of things to come? Let’s hope so.
What made the win by Kirk even more impressive and surprising was that he’d spent the off season playing golf left handed (he’s right handed). He set himself the target of breaking 80 playing left handed.
What role did that play. Did he suddenly arrive at Kapalua, pick up his normal clubs and find golf was much easier than he’d found it for the past few weeks?
It’s a really bizarre approach and you have to wonder had that information been out there, if anyone would have taken that leap of faith on Kirk.
Regardless, well played Tom, well played GBC, well played Lee, and most of all, well played Chris Kirk.
The tour island hops this week for the Sony Open. Check out the Betting Kingdom list of golf tipsters to see which ones you should be following for the rest of 2024.
