So what makes a tipster? I thought this was an important topic to discuss given I have taken it upon myself to create this tipster comparison site.
It’s arguably a grey area these days with social media being a breeding ground for punters voicing their opinions and sharing their bets.
Rightly or wrongly, I will offer a simple definition for the purpose of this website as to what I believe a tipster is. If you don’t agree, then so be it, after all social media is all about opinions right?
In my opinion, a tipster is simply a punter who chooses to share their bets with others. The minute you share a wager it goes from being a bet to a tip.
So anyone claiming “I’m not a tipster, I just like to share my bets” is contradicting themselves. If you don’t want to be a classed as a tipster, the simple answer is don’t share your bets.
This isn’t a personal dig at any one individual, it just so happens the timing of this post coincides with a discussion I had on X.
Just to reiterate this is my opinion. If you disagree with me that’s fine. I respect your opinion. But if punters do share their bets on Social Media or via any online platform, they have to expect to get feedback, both positive and negative.
Sadly the gambling community can be harsh at times. Losing money is not much fun and you could come under some criticism for those following your selections. So if you do share bets (tips) online, be prepared to receive some criticism from time to time.
If you are not willing to deal with that criticism, then my advice would be to stay as a punter and keep your bets to yourself. You’ll live a much easier life if you do that.
My job going forward is now to offer a platform for punters to compare tipsters. That will include anyone who chooses to share their bets online.
I’ve got over 20 years of experience in this industry and must have come across thousands of tipsters, both good and bad. So I feel like I’m a good judge, even if I don’t follow their tips with my own money.
But I’ve also given you the punter (someone that doesn’t share their bets online) the opportunity to leave a review to help others find the best tipsters.
Thanks for following and please do sign up and leave a review of any tipsters you have followed.
